The first underwater metro will pass through a tunnel built in the Hooghly river in Kolkata. There will be 6 coaches in this, apart from this there are many specialties of this train which we are going to tell you today.

Service will start after testing

Testing of two 6-coach metro is to be done under the Kolkata East-West Metro Project. Trial of these trains will be done between Esplanade and Howrah Ground at a distance of 4.8 km.

The country's first metro ran in Kolkata only.

Let me tell you, the country's first metro service was also done in Kolkata in the year 1984. After this, the second metro was started in Delhi in the year 2002. After which now metro service has started in many cities. At the same time, preparations are being made to start the first underwater metro in Kolkata itself.

Work will be completed by December

According to KMRC i.e. Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation, the service of the first underwater metro will start from December this year. Its work is still in progress and it will be completed soon.

Metro will run on the lines of London and Paris

India's first underwater metro train is being run on the lines of London-Paris. This underwater metro has been compared to London's Eurostar, which connects London and Paris with the underwater rail link. Lakhs of passengers will get relief from the start of this train.

120 crores will be spent

About 120 crores will be spent in making this metro tunnel. Apart from this, after Hauz Khas, Kolkata's Howrah station will be the maximum depth of 33 meters. At present, Hauz Khas is considered to be the deepest station up to 29 meters.
