West Bengal Violence News: The central government is looking strict regarding the violence in West Bengal. Home Minister Amit Shah has sought a report from the Mamta government on Tuesday (April 4) on the riots and bad law and order on Ram Navami. The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the Chief Secretary of West Bengal to send a report on the entire incident within 3 days. Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar wrote a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah. In which he said that Hindus are continuously being targeted in Bengal.
After this letter, the Ministry of Home Affairs has asked for this report. Earlier on Thursday, Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose and state BJP chief Sukant Majumdar and assessed the law and order situation in the state following clashes between two groups during a Ram Navami procession in Howrah on Thursday.
There was violence in Howrah and Hooghly
The Governor had informed Amit Shah about the violence and the current situation. A large number of police forces were deployed in the area after the mob went on a rampage in Howrah, burning vehicles, pelting stones and vandalizing shops. During this, many police vehicles were also damaged. After Howrah, there was violence in Hooghly on Sunday.
Sukant Majumdar had written this in the letter
Sukant Majumdar had written in his letter that there was ruckus in BJP's procession in Hooghly district as well. Then there was heavy stone pelting at railway stations. After which the train services were suspended and it could not be continued without the ruling party of West Bengal i.e. TMC and its support. A BJP delegation led by BJP President and Lok Sabha MP Sukant Mazumdar also met Governor CV Anand Bose on Tuesday regarding the recent incidents of violence in the state.
"BJP leaders prevented from visiting riot affected areas"
The BJP chief also wrote about the state administration preventing party leaders and MPs from visiting riot-affected areas. He wrote that our senior leaders and Members of Parliament are not allowed to visit the affected areas while TMC leaders and ministers are roaming in the areas. Even I was stopped on the highway five kilometers away from Rishra and Dilip Ghosh was attacked.
