The central government had announced on May 19 that Rs 2000 notes would be withdrawn from circulation. It has been announced to withdraw the 2000 rupees brought into circulation in 2016.
For the Reserve Bank of India and the government, more than Rs 2000 notes, Rs 500 notes are becoming a problem. RBI has confirmed this in its report. In fact, RBI has informed in its annual report that in the financial year 2023, about 91,110 fake Rs 500 notes were detected. The report states that during the financial year 2022-23, 4.6 per cent of the total fake Indian currency notes seized in the banking sector were found in the Reserve Bank and 95.4 per cent in other banks.
How many fake notes of 2000 rupees were found
The Central Bank also informed that in the financial year 2023, 78,699 fake Rs 100 notes and 27,258 fake Rs 200 notes were also found. RBI has received 9,806 fake 2000 rupee notes in the financial year 2022-23. The central government had announced on May 19 that Rs 2000 notes would be withdrawn from circulation. Increase in fake notes of 20 and 500 rupees
Compared to last year, the number of fake notes of new design of Rs 20 has increased by 8.4 percent. At the same time, there has been an increase of 14.4 per cent in the number of fake Rs 500 notes of the new design. There has been a decline in fake currency of Rs 10, Rs 100 and Rs 2000 notes. There has been an 11.6 per cent decline in the number of fake Rs 10 notes. There has been a decline of 14.7 percent in the number of fake Rs 100 notes and 27.9 percent in the number of fake Rs 2000 notes.
Who got how many fake notes
1. Only 3 fake notes of 2 and 5 rupees were found. In the financial year 2021-22, 1 and before that 9 notes were found.
2. Fake notes of Rs 10 were found 313. This number was 354 in the financial year 2021-22 and 304 in 2020-21.
3. The number of fake notes of 20 rupees is increasing continuously. 267 notes have been received in FY 2021, 311 in FY 2022 and 337 in FY 2023.
4. There has been an increase in the number of fake notes of Rs 50 as compared to last year. 24,802 notes have been received in FY 2021, 17,696 in FY 2022 and 17,755 in FY 2023.
5. There has been a steady decline in the number of fake Rs 100 notes. 1,10,436 notes have been received in FY 2021, 92,237 in FY 2022 and 78,699 in FY 2023.
6. There has been a continuous increase in the number of fake notes of 200 rupees. 24,245 notes have been received in FY 2021, 27,074 in FY 2022 and 27,258 in FY 2023.
7. There has been a steady rise in fake notes of Rs 500. 39,453 notes have been received in FY 2021, 76,669 in FY 2022 and 91,110 in FY 2023.
8. There has been a decline in fake notes of Rs 2000 as compared to last year. 8,798 notes have been received in FY 2021, 13,604 in FY 2022 and 9,806 in FY 2023.
