Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Japan from May 19 to May 21, 2023, to participate in the G-7 summit . India is not a member of G-7 group but Japan is presiding it this time. And on the special invitation of Japanese PM Fumio Kishida, PM Modi is reaching Japan. The G-7 summit is special in the context of India because it is presiding over the G-20 this year. Secondly because this summit is being held in Hiroshima, Japan and India is among those countries which have not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
It is not hidden from anyone that Hiroshima was completely destroyed in the year 1945 nuclear attack. This is very important for India because the G-20 summit is scheduled for September 9-10, 2023 in New Delhi. India has decided the theme of this summit – Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam or One Earth, One Family, One Future. It is believed that India will be around this theme in the G-7 summit.
