Mughal History: When Akbar was 4 years and 4 months old, then only Humayun had imposed the duty of a teacher for him. Mullazada Mulla Asmuddin was the first teacher of Akbar. But despite Asmuddin's many efforts, Akbar could not learn to read and write. Know what was the reason for this.
Mughal emperor Akbar remained illiterate, but during his tenure respected scholars, writers and people who made a mark in a particular field. Gave him a place in the Navratnas of his court and also appointed him on many important posts. Interestingly, the emperors in the Mughals had knowledge of many languages including Arabic, Urdu and Persian. Akbar being illiterate in such a situation is shocking.
There is also a reason why Akbar remained illiterate. Many historians have mentioned the reason for this in their books.
That's why Akbar remained illiterate
Historian Andre Vink writes that several attempts were made to educate Prince Akbar. After long efforts, many teachers failed to educate Akbar. Seeing this condition of Akbar in childhood, father Humayun sent him to another country, but no solution was found.
Akbar could neither learn to read nor write like other princes. After continuous failure, Humayun started teaching them Indian civilization and customs. They were given information about art and culture. Not only this, taught him woodcraft. Apart from this, martial arts training and military operations were started so that he could take command of the army.
Many historians attribute this to a disorder known as dyslexia. This is such a disease in which the child cannot recognize letters. As a result, his studies are directly affected. Historian Ellen, who did research on this, also said that the disease of the emperor had become an obstacle in his studies.
Many teachers were removed one after the other
Many astrologers had already predicted about Akbar's education. This has been the reason that when Akbar was 4 years and 4 months old, Humayun had imposed the duty of a teacher for him. Mullazada Mulla Asmuddin was the first teacher of Akbar. But despite Asamuddin's many efforts, Akbar could not learn to read and write.
Humayun was angry with this and removed Asamuddin and appointed another teacher, but the situation did not improve in Akbar. As a result, many teachers kept changing. Then Humayun started giving information about Indian civilization and culture to Akbar.
