Karnataka Milk Federation was continuously moving forward. Moving forward with success, it felt the need of a brand name. In 1983 it got the name Nandini. Which was named after the sacred cow. Its success can be gauged from its latest figures. In fact, at present the Federation is procuring milk from more than 22 thousand villages and delivering it in the form of 65 products in 7 major states of South India.
Milk producers also bat-bat
About Rs 24 crore per day was paid to milk producers by the Nandini brand in the last financial year, while in 1976-77 this figure was just Rs 0.09 crore. If we talk about the total business, then the business of the Federation was about 9 crores at that time, which has now increased to more than 14 thousand crores.
Nandini's products are cheap
Nandini's products are much cheaper than other dairy brands. In a way, one kg of curd from Nandini comes for just Rs.47, while the cost of one kg of curd from Amul is Rs.72. If we talk about toned milk, one liter of Amul's milk comes for Rs.54, while one liter of Nandini's milk is available for Rs.39 only.
