Nepal PM Visit India: Nepal 's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' will come to India on a four-day tour on 31 May. During his visit, he will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Modi and President Draupadi Murmu on June 1. During this, there can be talks on many issues between India and Nepal, including issues like energy, MLAT. 'Prachanda' became the Prime Minister of Nepal for the third time in December last year.

This is his first foreign tour after becoming PM. Nepali PM can also visit Madhya Pradesh after coming to India. It is being told that he will study Indore's Waste Management System and Cleanliness Initiative.

These issues can be discussed between India and Nepal

According to the information, in addition to energy between the two countries of this visit of 'Prachanda', mutual legal assistance treaty (MLAT) in criminal matters can be discussed. Apart from this, talks are expected on the permission of transit power trade. In fact, Nepal and Bangladesh had recently put a lot of pressure on India to allow transit power trade.

This issue was raised by the PM of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, who visited India in September last year, had raised the issue of importing electricity from Nepal and Bhutan through India. At the same time, this matter also came up during Nepal's Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud's visit to Dhaka in May, when he urged Bangladeshi companies to invest in his country's hydropower sector.

Agreement can be finalized

This agreement can be finalized during this visit of PM Prachanda. Nepal has been demanding this for a long time. This will help both the countries a lot. Actually, Nepal wants to do hydroelectric business with Bangladesh and Bangladesh needs additional energy. This agreement will help both the countries.

The first round of talks on MLAT was held on April 13.

Prior to PM Dahal's visit, the two countries had held the first round of talks on MLAT on 13 April. There was a virtual meeting between the two countries. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Law, Home and External Affairs and the CBI. India is insisting on MLAT because this process will make it easier to solve criminal cases. It has been a long time since the signing of the extradition treaty between India and Nepal. An extradition treaty was signed between the two countries in 1953.
