Now the risk of high blood pressure due to more phone calls, shocking claim in research

New research published in a journal of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) has come to light regarding the use of mobile phones and blood pressure.

If you talk on cell phone for 30 minutes or more every week, it can lead to high blood pressure. This has been claimed in new research published in a journal of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). Jianhui Qin, professor at Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China, and author of this research, told that the number of minutes people spend talking on mobile, it matters for the health of the heart. More minutes spent means more risk.

About three-quarters of the world's population is over 10 years of age and has a mobile phone. Around 1.3 billion adults aged 30 to 79 worldwide have high blood pressure. High blood pressure is believed to be responsible for heart attack and stroke, due to which the number of deaths is also increasing worldwide.

Danger from mobile phone

Mobile phones emit low levels of radiofrequency energy, which can cause an increase in blood pressure after short term exposure. The results of previous studies on mobile phone use and blood pressure were potentially inaccurate. The previous study included phone calls as well as text messages and gaming.

Research Scale

This study examined the relationship between making a phone call and new onset hypertension in addition to the receiver. Data from the UK Biobank was used in the research. A total of 212,046 adults aged 37 to 73 without high blood pressure were included in the research. Information on mobile phone use for making and receiving calls was collected via a self-reported touchscreen questionnaire, including years of use, number of hours per week, as well as hands-free devices and speakerphone Went.

Participants who used a mobile phone at least once a week to make or receive calls were defined as mobile phone users. The average age of the people involved in the research was 54 years. In this, 62 percent women were 88 percent mobile phone users. According to the research, the risk of high blood pressure was 7 percent higher in those who did not use mobile much.
