Online Medicine Ban: Will getting medicines online stop, how will the common people work?

AIOCD has written a letter to the cabinet secretary to ban buying and selling of medicines online. He believes that people are putting their lives in danger by buying medicines online.

Now you may find it difficult to order medicine online. This is because the All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists has written a letter to the Cabinet Secretary regarding this. AIOCD has demanded in the letter from the cabinet to ban the purchase of medicines online. The chemist body said that online medicine sellers are not following the norms of buying medicines properly. Due to which people are putting their lives in danger by buying medicines online. For this reason it should be banned.

AIOCD is very concerned about the lives of the people, due to which it has demanded a ban on buying and selling of medicines online. Let me tell you, earlier also the Delhi High Court had banned the sale of medicines online.

Referring to the order of the High Court

The letter cited a 2018 Delhi High Court order that prohibited e-pharmacies from selling unlicensed medicines online. It was also directed that such sale should be immediately banned till further orders. However, despite court orders, many e-pharmacies continued to sell medicines online. At the same time, the AIOCD also told that the e-pharmacy operating illegally has been selling medicines for more than 4.5 years.

Companies do not follow the IT Act

AIOCD told in the letter that many companies do not even have a license to sell medicines online. She is selling medicine without license. Companies have to follow the rules of IT Acts to sell medicines online. Which most companies do not do. Due to which the High Court had banned his advertisement. Recently, the drug controller had issued notices to 20 well-known online pharmacies for violating the rules.
