UGC Launched CU Chayan Portal: UGC has prepared an excellent plan to fill the vacant posts of Professor and Assistant Professor in Central University. CU Chayan Portal has been launched by the University Grant Commission for faculty recruitment in Central University . Let us tell you that the Central Government had recently told in the Lok Sabha that about 31 percent of the posts in the Central University are vacant.
UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar, who launched the portal curec.samarth.ac.in, said both applicants and universities would benefit from it. It will list jobs in all central universities and provide a simple interface to apply.
46 Central University in the country
There are 46 Central Universities in the country under the Union Ministry of Education. UGC Chairman informed that the portal will help UGC to fast-track the recruitment process to universities as it will give real-time data on vacancies, pending applications.

- There will be ease of real-time tracking of applications to fill vacant posts.
- There will be individual dashboard for each applicant.
- There will be an Admin Dashboard for each University/Department.

Applicants will be able to see the list of job openings in all the participating universities. Also, they will be able to apply in any university through single login. Candidates will also be able to use filters like location, subject, type of employment and others. Registered applicants will also receive an auto email informing about new vacancies advertised by any CU.
The portal will help Central Universities to advertise vacancies, collect online applications, shortlist applicants and conduct interviews. It is a good platform to recruit faculty.
