AI filter will curb unwanted calls, 30 days ultimatum to companies

TRAI has already directed telecom companies to install AI filters to prevent spam calls. Now TRAI has shown strictness to get this rule fulfilled.

TRAI AI Filter: Soon you are going to get rid of unwanted and spam calls . TRAI has instructed telecom companies to install spam filters equipped with artificial intelligence. Telecom companies will have to install AI filters within the next 30 days. Along with this, companies will also have to share the data of unwanted calls on a common platform.

TRAI had announced that from May 1, 2023, telecom companies will have to use AI filters . This decision was taken to stop the increasing spam calls and scams. Meanwhile, Jio and Airtel had also agreed to apply AI filters in phone calls. However, even after implementing the rule, spam calls have not stopped completely.

To implement the rules properly, TRAI has given 30 days to the telecom companies to install AI filters. Telecom companies like Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, Jio and BSNL will have to fulfill the conditions of TRAI.

How will AI filter work

With the help of AI filter, advertising phone calls and promotional messages will be identified. After this such numbers will be blocked. Along with this, the caller ID feature of the telecom companies will have to be given. Through this, it will be known whether the calling number is spam or not. According to the new rules, such 10 digit numbers which are being used for marketing will be closed.

Obviously, the cases of spam calls and scams due to them are increasing rapidly these days. Even after activating the Do Not Disturb (DND) service, users get spam calls indiscriminately. To curb this, this step of TRAI will prove to be a great relief for the users. Soon you will get rid of bank offers, investment schemes and phone calls from loan providers.
