LIC has simplified the rules for making insurance claims for the victims of cyclone Biparjoy. This cyclone hitting the coast of Gujarat has caused huge devastation in the state. At the same time, its effect has been seen till Maharashtra and Rajasthan. In such a situation, a large population will benefit from this step of LIC.
According to the guidelines of Insurance Regulator IRDA (IRDAI), LIC announced relief for the insured late on Saturday evening. Along with this, LIC also announced ease in claim rules for the subscribers of 'Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana'.
LIC has said in a statement that the loss of life in the cyclone has been minimal, but the company is reaching out to the families of the victims, so that help can be provided to them in this difficult time.
Nodal officers have been made
It has been said in the statement of LIC that the nodal officer has been nominated at the divisional level to make insurance claims accessible to the people easily. These officers will liaise with the Chief Secretaries, Secretaries, concerned officers of the State Governments.

Cyclone Biparjoy hit the Kutch area of Gujarat on Thursday. Due to this, strong winds started blowing at a speed of up to 120 km in the area. The infrastructure of the area has suffered a lot due to the cyclonic winds.
Earlier, when there was a train accident in Balasore, Odisha recently, LIC had done the work of simplifying the terms and conditions of insurance claims on the guidelines of IRDA.
