A statement was issued on Saturday by LIC Chairman Siddharth Mohanty. In this, LIC has announced various types of relief to the victims of rail accidents in the process of claim settlement.

It will be easy to claim insurance policy

According to the statement of LIC, the victims of rail accident should not face much difficulty, so the claim process of their LIC's insurance policy, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana policy and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana policy is being simplified.

Now the list of the dead issued by the railway, police, any state government and any central department will be considered as the certificate of death for claiming insurance of the accident victims. That is, the relatives of these deceased will not have to give registered death certificate to claim insurance.

LIC started special help desk

Not only this, LIC has started a special help desk and call center to help the victims of the Coromandel train accident. Claim related inquiries will be resolved at LIC's office at divisional and branch level. At the same time, full assistance will be given to the relatives applying for the claim. Not only this, efforts will be made to reach all the insurance holders and make claim settlement faster.

288 killed, 1,100 injured in the accident

With this, LIC Chairman Siddharth Mohanty has expressed grief over this accident in Balasore, Odisha. 288 people have died in this accident. At the same time, about 1,100 people have been injured. Coromandel Express, SMVT Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and a goods train collided in this accident near Bahanga Bazar station in Odisha's Balasore district at 7 pm on Friday.
