Diabetes cases: Diabetes is increasing like an epidemic in India and many other countries of the world . According to the World Health Organization, at present there are 500 million cases of diabetes worldwide. In the next 25 to 30 years, this figure is expected to be more than 1 billion. In this regard, a report has also been published in the medical journal The Lancet. This research has been done by the researchers of the University of Washington.
Lian, a researcher at the University's School of Medicine, says that diabetes patients are increasing continuously in almost all countries of the world. An increase is being seen in both type-1 and type 2 diabetes. Lian has concluded this on the basis of data of diabetes patients in more than 200 countries from 1990 to 2020. In which he has said that the rate at which diabetes patients are increasing, it is expected that by 2050 its cases will be more than 1 billion.
Early childhood illness
Research has shown that the symptoms of diabetes are visible at an early age and now its cases are increasing even in the age group below 40. Talking about countries, cases are increasing rapidly in America and West Asia. While the rate of increase in diabetes cases in Caribbean countries is still low as compared to other countries. Cases are also increasing in India and here more than 10 crore patients have diabetes.
Why is this disease spreading so fast?
Leone says that a major reason for the rise in diabetes is a sedentary lifestyle and wrong eating habits. Except for genetic reasons, in all other cases, this disease is increasing due to these two reasons only. It is a matter of concern that due to diabetes other parts of the body are also getting damaged. This is causing serious diseases of the heart, kidney and eyes. In such a situation, people now need to be alert about diabetes. Steps will also have to be taken to prevent this disease.
