European countries seem to be troubled by the good relations between India and Russia . Despite the war that broke out between Russia and Ukraine, there has been no change in the relationship between the two countries. Europe is missing these closeness day by day. Now before coming to India, the Defense Minister of Germany has expressed concern about this.
Germany's Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has reached Delhi. He has come on a four-day tour. Earlier, in an interview given to Germany's news portal Deutsche Welle, he said that India's dependence on Russia for the purchase of arms is not right for Germany. India is buying maximum arms from Russia and since last year Russia is also providing us crude oil at a cheap price.
Pistorius has said that it is not in the hands of Germany alone to change things. This issue can be resolved only together. If India remains dependent on Russia for arms and other material for a long time, then it will not be right. Extending the hand of friendship towards India, he has said that we want to cooperate with our partners.
India will get 6 submarines
Pistorius, who came on a tour of India, has also said that during this time he will also try to sell submarines to India. Many representatives of the German Defense Sector are also involved with them and there is a plan to give 6 submarines made in Germany to India. Actually Germany's chances have increased since the retreat of France. Although Germany takes a strict attitude on the export of arms, but after the Ukraine war, it has relaxed it. This deal is worth Rs 43000 crore.
Exercise plan with india
In the year 2021, Germany had deployed one of its warships in the Indo-Pacific region. Next year he is going to deploy another warship here. Pistorius has said that Germany also plans to conduct joint exercises with India.
Debate in Europe about India
India's neutrality regarding Ukraine war is stinging the European countries. He has criticized India many times. Only last month, Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholtz had said that countries like India, South Africa and Vietnam are hesitating to criticize Russia over the Ukraine war. In his view, international principles have not been adopted equally. Also, western countries adopt double standards. Supporting India, he had said that we have to remove these concerns as soon as possible. In fact, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had raised questions on the mentality of European countries.
Why is Germany in tension?
Russia has been India's partner for years. India buys most of Russia's weapons. More than 80 percent of the weapons in all the three armies are Russian. Russia is giving us Sukhoi, MiG and S-400. On the other hand, the relations between Germany and India have neither been bad nor very good. Talks have been going on between the two countries for the last 70 years. Yet somewhere there is always a lack of cooperation.
