Radio Free Asia's report claimed that Kim Jong Un decided to stop suicide during an emergency meeting.
This decision has been taken in view of the increasing cases of suicide in the last one year. There has been a 40 per cent increase in suicide cases this year as compared to last year, causing concern among the authorities. However, this figure has not been confirmed by the officials.
Order given in emergency meeting
It has been claimed that an emergency meeting of officials was called in view of the increase in suicide cases. Kim Jong Un also participated in this. It was during this meeting that he decided to put a stop to suicide. At the same time, a spokesman for South Korea's National Intelligence Service has told that the increasing internal unrest in North Korea is the reason for the people's problems. Apart from this, violent crimes are also increasing rapidly in the country due to which people have to struggle.
35 cases of suicide this year
Giving information, an official said that this meeting took place in the office of the provincial party committee, in which many big leaders participated. In this meeting, Kim Jong Un ordered a ban on suicide. The official said that this year alone, 35 cases of suicide were reported in Chongjin and nearby Kyongsong county. This figure was also presented in the North Hamgyong meeting. According to the officer, most of these cases were those in which entire families were committing suicide together.
