Delhi-NCR is going to get another international airport by next year. The new Noida International Airport being built at Jewar in Greater Noida will be operational by September 2024. But the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh wants that the distance between Noida Airport and Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport should be completed in less than 1 hour. On the other hand, people can reach the Airport Express line starting from New Delhi in just 30 minutes.

In fact, it is included in the agreement to develop Jewar Airport that the airport maker Zurich International AG, Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd, Noida International Airport Ltd, Yamuna Expressway Development Authority and the Government of Uttar Pradesh will jointly develop the two airports. To provide multimodal connectivity.

72 km long high-speed metro will be built

It has been decided to develop a 72 km long new high-speed metro rail line to cover the distance between the two airports in less than 1 hour. Out of this, 35.64 km long metro track between Jewar Airport and Knowledge Park-2 has already been approved. While the DPR and funding pattern of 36.36 km from Knowledge Park to New Delhi Airport Express Line station is yet to be decided.

Confusion on making 12 stations or 6 stations

Delhi Metro had earlier planned to build 12 stations on this new metro line. But the UP government believes that this will reduce the metro speed on the track and the travel time will increase. The Uttar Pradesh government wants that the distance from Jewar Airport to New Delhi Airport Express Line station should be completed in half an hour. That's why he has proposed to build 6 stations.

Rs 13,000 crore is needed to build Metro

A total fund of Rs 13,000 crore will be required to build the new metro line. In this regard, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary D.S. A high-level meeting is going to be held on June 14 under the chairmanship of Mishra. In this meeting, a big decision can be taken regarding the funding of Metro, the number of stations and the timeline.
