Kolkata Rathyatra: Lord Baldev's chariot will be 38 feet high, iron wheels made for Subhadra; CM Mamta will inaugurate on June 20

Kolkata Rathyatra: The preparations for the Rath Yatra organized by ISKCON in Kolkata have been completed. CM Mamta Banerjee will inaugurate the Rath Yatra on 20 June. Dona Ganguly will present a dance program on this occasion.

Kolkata. Rath Yatra will be organized in Kolkata on 20th June . All the preparations for the Rath Yatra have been completed. Lord Baldev's chariot is the biggest in height. Its full height is 38 feet, while Lord Jagannath's chariot is smaller than Baldev's chariot, but bigger than Subhadra's chariot. Subhadra Devi's chariot is the smallest and has iron wheels. Its full height is 36 feet. While giving this information on Saturday, Kolkata ISKCON Vice President Radharaman Das said that CM Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the Rath Yatra on June 20.

He said that Mamta Banerjee will inaugurate the Rath Yatra on June 20 at 1 pm from ISKCON Temple, 3C, Albert Road, near Minto Park. On this occasion, there will be a dance performance by Dona Ganguly and her troupe.

He said that the Kolkata Rath Yatra established by ISKCON founder-Acharya Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in the year 1972 has become the second largest Rath Yatra in the world after the Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra.

He said that more than 15 to 16 lakh people participate in this Rath Yatra. Today ISKCON organizes Rath Yatras in more than 170 countries and more than 800 cities and towns around the world.

He said that Lord Jagannath, Baldev and Subhadra Devi would leave the ISKCON temple in their respective chariots at 8 am under Pahundi Vijaya. Cultural programs will be held in front of Lord Jagannath from 10 am to 1 pm. The Chief Minister will arrive at 1 pm and a dance performance will be performed by Donna Ganguly and her troupe. Rath Yatra will start at 2 pm.

He said that along with this, three trolleys will depict various pastimes of God and his devotees. Also, four mini vans will display various pastimes of the Lord performed by children. Devotee artists will create street art and perform kirtans using natural organic gulal and kirtans accompanied by hundreds of drums and cymbals.

He said that the theme of Rath Yatra in Kolkata this year is 'peace of mind'. With the increasing number of people suffering from mental illness around the world, ISKCON devotees will educate the masses on how to maintain peace of mind even in these extremely challenging circumstances. The mission of ISKCON is to dispel the darkness of ignorance and lead people towards peace through spiritual knowledge.

Lord Baldev's chariot is the tallest, height of 38 feet

He said that the chariot of Lord Baldev is the biggest in height. Its full height is 38 feet, and it is about 36 feet long and 18 feet wide.

He said that Lord Baldev's chariot is made of 98 per cent iron structure and ISKCON has been using the same chariot for the last 45 years. The chariot of Lord Baldev is earlier than the chariot of Goddess Subhadra and the chariot of Jagannath.

He said that Subhadra Devi's chariot is the smallest and has iron wheels. This chariot was brought in a trailer from Mumbai in 2002, as the old chariot of Subhadra Devi was stolen in Kolkata.

He said that Lord Jagannath's chariot is smaller than Baldev's chariot and bigger than Subhadra's chariot. Its full height is 36 feet and it is about 30 feet long, 17 feet wide. It has huge solid iron wheels to support its heavy structure.
