The month of Sawan is considered very special for the worship of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. This year Sawan is going to start from 4th July. It will run for 58 days till 31st August. There can be no better time than the month of Sawan to please Lord Shiva. Whoever worships Shiva with true heart in the month of Sawan, Bholenath fulfills all his wishes. Along with Shiva, the worship of his half mother Parvati is also considered very auspicious in Sawan. On Tuesdays falling in the month of Sawan, fasting and worship is done to please Mother Gauri. Worship method of Gauri Mangala Vrat
On a Tuesday falling in Sawan, get up in the Brahma Muhurta, take a bath etc. and wear clean clothes. Choose only pink, green, yellow or orange color to wear. After this, after cleaning the worship house, spread a red cloth on a post in the east-north direction and place the picture of Mata Gauri on it. Must offer Sola Shringar to the mother during worship. Also, worship the mother with cloves, betel nut, coconut, cardamom and dry fruits and sweets. During this, do read the story of the mother's fast and then end the worship with the aarti. Donating makeup to the married women is very auspicious on this day. It is believed.
What is the significance of Mangala Gauri Vrat?
It is said in the scriptures that by worshiping Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati, married life remains happy. Unmarried girls worship Shiva to get a pleasing husband and Mata Gauri is worshiped for unbroken good fortune. Gauri Mangala Vrat is also observed by married women to get unbroken good fortune. If there is any problem in married life, then observing Mata Mangala Gauri fast is auspicious.
