On Monday night, a man carrying an ax entered a Chinese restaurant in New Zealand 's largest city Auckland and attacked the people present there. Four people have been injured in this attack, who have been sent to the hospital. An Auckland hospital spokesman said on Tuesday that one victim had been discharged and three remained in a stable condition, according to officials and local media .
According to media reports, the accused man went to three Chinese restaurants – Zhangliang Maltang, Yus Dumpling Kitchen and Maya Hotpot – and started randomly attacking people with an ax around 9 pm on Monday.
Attacked while eating
An eyewitness told that she was eating with a friend at a Maya hotpot when a man with an ax came up to her friend and killed her. She said that everyone in the restaurant stood up and shouted "What are you going to do? Why are you doing this? before he kills his friend again.
Accused of injuring four people
New Zealand police said they have arrested a 24-year-old man. He was charged with wounding people with intent to kill. According to media reports, he will be produced in the court on Tuesday. Police said that the reason for the attack could not be found.
