Odisha Train Accident: The horrific accident that happened on June 2 in Balasore, Odisha shook the whole country. Now the investigating agency is focusing its attention on whether there has been any tampering with the automatic signaling system, which is responsible for the movement of the train. Along with this, the investigators suspect that the Coromandel Express train was sent on the loop line track, on which a goods train carrying iron ore was already standing.

According to the report, investigators suspect that the train was bypassed by railway staff to avoid signaling hindrances caused by the faulty barrier. Instructions issued to strengthen the protocol
On the other hand, after the accident, the Railway Board has ordered to implement double locking system on all its signaling properties. The Railway Board also issued instructions to strengthen the protocol to start the train movement. On Saturday (June 10), the board ordered the implementation of double-locking arrangements for all relay rooms along with train control systems, relay huts housing signaling and telecommunications.
In fact, the order indicated that in the Balasore train accident, there was interference in the signaling system due to access to the relay room, which caused the Coromandel Express to go into the loop line and hit a stationary goods train, resulting in the entire accident. Senior officials said there was enough evidence to show that the interlocking system was tampered with, so now the mechanism has to be made tamper-proof.
