Alcohol and Liver Cancer: Alcohol causes great harm to health. This causes many diseases. Now it has been found in a research that the liver is getting damaged due to the consumption of alcohol. Due to this, the cases of liver cancer and liver failure are increasing. Till 2017, 21 percent of such cases were coming, but this year it has increased to 40 percent. A team of doctors from Medanta Institute of Liver Transplantation has done this research.
A team led by Dr. Arvinder Soin, Chief Surgeon, Medanta Institute of Liver Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine, extracted this information from the data of 4,000 liver transplants, out of 4,000 patients, 78% are from India and the rest (22%) are foreigners . All these patients had come to Medanta for liver transplant. His liver was completely damaged. Due to which transplant was needed.
Liver failure due to alcohol consumption
According to Dr. Arvinder, drinking alcohol is causing liver failure. Because of this there is a need to transplant. All these people used to consume alcohol. Because of which the liver was stopping working. Liver transplant was done to save the lives of the patients.
Recently, a statement of the World Health Organization also came, in which it was said that there is no fixed amount of alcohol, which will not harm the body by consuming it.
Bad lifestyle and food also cause liver disease
The World Health Organization had said that wrong eating habits are also a major cause of liver disease. In the last few years, the disease of fatty liver and liver cirrhosis is spreading rapidly. People are getting liver cirrhosis after fatty liver. If it is not treated on time, the liver fails. In such a situation, a transplant is needed to save the patient's life.
