Purola Communal Tension: The Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition against Purola Mahapanchayat on Wednesday . A vacation bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah gave this verdict. The bench said that it will not hear the matter. The bench asked the petitioner to approach the Uttarakhand High Court or the concerned authorities.
The petitioner withdrew his petition after the apex court refused to hear it. Earlier, the Uttarkashi District Administration today refused to give permission for the proposed mahapanchayat in Purola on 15th June. The District Magistrate said that Section 144 has been imposed in Purola.
Owaisi demanded ban on mahapanchayat
The situation is tense in Purola regarding the alleged love jihad case. Two days before this, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had demanded a ban on the mahapanchayat to be held in Purola on June 15. Why did the dispute increase in Purola?
Recently in Purola, a boy from a particular community had abducted a minor girl. Since then the atmosphere there has been very hot. Different business organizations have supported the mahapanchayat to be held in Purola tomorrow. It has now become a national level issue.
