Ramayan: The film 'Adipurush' has become a part of controversies ever since its release. The dialogues, character and look of the film are being trolled on everything. Many types of objections are also being raised regarding Janaki's look. Especially regarding Sita's pallu. People are saying that this film has hurt their religious sentiments. So let us tell you that this is not the first time that there has been a ruckus regarding Sita's look. Earlier, there was a lot of controversy regarding Sita's blouse in Ramanand Sagar's show Ramayana. Not only this, a stay was imposed on the show.
Sunil Lahiri played the character of Laxman in Ramayana. He often shares old stories related to the show with his fans. This time he has told about this ruckus in an interview. After which it took two years to telecast the show.
There was a ruckus over Sita's blouse.
In an interview given to Aaj Tak, Sunil Lahiri told that Ramanand Sagar had shot three pilots to get consent for the telecast of the show. This shoot was done because it was difficult to telecast it. Everyone was keeping a close eye on it. The I&B ministry was also involved in approving. When these three pilots were shown, they told some points. Out of which was on Sita's blouse. He had said that Mata Sita cannot wear cut sleeves blouse.
Sita's costume changed;
Doordarshan had also objected to Sita's blouse and refused to telecast the show. After which Ramanand Sagar again worked on Sita's costume and got the full sleeves blouse designed and accordingly got the saree designed.
The show was put on hold for two years
Sunil Lahiri further told that due to this issue the show was put on hold for two years. After that it was telecasted.
