Kawad Yatra 2023: Shiva devotees wait for the whole year for the month of Shravan dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva, because the Kawad Yatra is performed in this auspicious month. This difficult pilgrimage to be done in the month of Sawan is not less than any penance. According to Hindu belief, the person who travels to Kanwar according to law, is showered with infinite blessings of Lord Shiva and Mahadev fulfills all his wishes. When will the Kanwar Yatra start
In the Sanatan tradition, the journey that is undertaken to bring Ganges water to Lord Shiva in the month of Shravan and offer it to Lord Shiva is called Kanwar Yatra. This Kanwar Yatra to shower the blessings of Lord Shiva will start from 4th July 2023 this year and will continue till 15th July 2023. Water can be offered to Lord Shiva on 15 and 16 July 2023 i.e. for two days. On both these days, Shiva devotees will be able to offer water to Mahadev in auspicious time.
What are the types of Kanwar Yatra?
Before leaving for the Kanwar Yatra, the Kanwariya decides the medium of his journey. For example, some people complete this holy journey by walking barefoot, some by running and some by vehicle. People do this journey related to the worship of Lord Shiva keeping in mind their faith and their capability. In the last few years, various changes are seen in the Kanwar Yatra. At present, every Shiv seeker wants to complete his journey by making his Kanwar grand and attractive. Presently three types of Kanwar – Khari Kanwar, Dak Kanwar and Jhanki Wali Kanwar are more prevalent.
Rules related to Kavand Yatra
If you are going on Kanwar Yatra for the first time, then first of all know that this holy journey should always be done with a pure body and mind.
During the Kavad Yatra, one should not consume intoxicants or vindictive things in any way even by forgetting the Kavadiya.
During the Kanwar Yatra, do not keep the Kanwar filled with Gangajal on the ground even by mistake and once you start your Kanwar Yatra again after rest, make sure to take a bath before that.
During the Kanwar Yatra, one should not argue with anyone even by forgetting the Kanwariya.
During the Kanwar Yatra, the Kanwariyas should continuously keep chanting the Shiva mantra in their mind.
