After the death of Sushant, his entire family was broken. The actor's father filed a case against Riya Chakraborty for killing Sushant in Bihar. But on the basis of CBI's investigation and post mortem report of AIIMS, no evidence like murder was found. But under the drugs case, the difficulties of Riya Chakraborty and her brother Shovik Chakraborty were seen increasing. Under the drugs case, both had to go to jail.

In the year 2021, a PIL was filed in the Supreme Court to get updates in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. In this, the latest update from CBI in Sushant Singh Rajput case was considered. A few months ago, an employee named Roopkumar Shah from Cooper Hospital in Mumbai had claimed in Sushant Singh Rajput case that this case is not of suicide but of murder. According to him, he had seen Sushant's dead body which had injury marks. That's why they didn't find this case of suicide.
