Tata EV Cell Plant: Reliance's future plan will get a setback? Tata will set up Giga factory in Gujarat

After increasing the craze of electric vehicles in the country, Tata Group is now working towards setting up a battery plant. This battery will be used in his EV. Due to this, the energy storage plan of Reliance Industries i.e. Giga Factory can get a tough competition.

Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries had announced to set up a Giga factory in Gujarat some time back amid all the preparations going on for electric mobility and green energy shift in the country. Now this plan of the company may soon face a big challenge from Tata Group, because Tata Group is also going to set up a Giga factory in Gujarat.

Tata Group is planning to use the battery made here in its electric vehicle business. Right now the best selling electric car in India is also Tata Group's 'Nexon'. Apart from this, the company also sells Tiago EV and Tigor EV.

Will invest 13,000 crores

Tata Group is going to set up Giga Factory for manufacturing Lithium-Ion Cells in Gujarat. For this, the company has also signed an MoU with the Gujarat government. The company will invest Rs 13,000 crore on this factory. Here batteries will be made for electric vehicles and domestic supply chain will be developed.

This battery made in several phases will first have a lithium ion cell plant with a production capacity of 20 gigahours. Later its capacity can also be increased. The company says that more than 13,000 people will get direct and indirect employment from this factory.

Tata's battery plant will be set up in Sanand

Agartas Energy Storage Solutions, a subsidiary of Tata Group, will set up this plant in Sanand, Gujarat. Tata Motors also has a plant here. It will take 3 years to set up this plant. While after the construction of this plant, Tata Group's dependence on third party regarding the battery of its electric vehicles will end. Right now Tata Group is dependent on suppliers from China and South Korea for this.

Jaguar Land Rover will also be electric

Tata Group also plans to set up an electric vehicle battery plant in Britain or Spain. This will meet his European needs. At the same time, the company will also get help in making its luxury brands Jaguar and Land Rover electric.
