Testicles: Can death be caused by pressing the testicles of men? Know the answer from the experts of AIIMS


Karnataka High Court Statement:
The Karnataka High Court has said in a statement that grabbing the testicles of another person during a quarrel cannot be called attempt to murder.

The Karnataka High Court has made an important comment during the hearing of a case. Overturning a trial judgement, the High Court has said that suppressing the testicles of another person in a quarrel does not amount to attempt to murder. The aim of the accused was not to kill the victim. If the murder was to be committed, the accused would have brought some weapon with him. The purpose of pressing the testicles was not to kill.

Now there may be a question in the mind of many people whether pressing testicles can lead to death or not? This question is because, many times we have seen that even a slight injury on the testicles worsens the condition. In many cases, the person has to be admitted to the hospital as well. So can pressing testicles cause death or not? 

Can testicles die from compression?

Dr. Yudhveer Singh, Professor in the Critical Care Department at AIIMS, New Delhi, explains that injury to the testicles does not lead to death. But when there is an injury, the person feels unbearable pain. In many cases, there is also a need for hospitalization to reduce the pain. After few hours of treatment the person gets cured.

However, if there is a serious injury to the testicles, it can affect the reproductive health of the person. This also causes the problem of infertility. If there is an injury on both the testicles, then the ability to become a father may also end. In many cases, the person's hormones are also affected. In such a situation, treatment is done through medicines.

Can death be caused by being hit by a cricket ball?

Dr. Deepak Kumar Suman, Senior Resident at Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, explains that testicles are a very delicate organ of the male body. But it is not that an injury to the testicles or a cricket ball will result in death. Testicles injury can never cause death, although any type of injury can cause many problems.

Generally, swelling can occur after an injury in the testicles, due to which there is a risk of urinary problems. The blood supply in the body of some people can also be affected. In this case, one has to be admitted to the hospital.
