Addressing on UN Peacekeepers Day, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the contribution of Indians in Peacekeepers has been a huge legacy.

New Delhi. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has addressed the 75th anniversary of ' UN Peacekeepers Day '. During this, he encouraged many military officers of the country and the world and praised them for their efforts to maintain peace in the whole world. The Defense Minister has said that in today's time, innovation and international cooperation are more required for the security and effectiveness of UN peacekeepers.

The Defense Minister has said that now the time has come that we should provide better training, technology and other facilities for the peacekeepers soldiers. Rajnath has asked to increase the role of women in peacekeeping operations. During this, he advocated for India to become a permanent member in the UN Security Council and said, the time has come to increase the Security Council and India should be made its permanent member.

Let us tell you that peacekeeping is the same army which is ready to maintain peace in the whole world. India has played an important role in the peacekeeping operations carried out by the army all over the world. Peacekeeping force has completed 75 years. UN peacekeepers are also helped by India in those programs which are run not only inside the country but also outside.

The soldiers of the United States Peacekeepers Army are also known by the name Blue Helmets. India is the country that has contributed the most to this army so far. India has so far contributed 2,75,000 soldiers in many peacekeeping operations around the world. Let us inform that a total of 159 soldiers of the Indian Army have been martyred so far under the UN peacekeeping programs. Currently, there are 12 such missions in the peacekeeping operations being run by the United Nations where Indian soldiers are deployed.
