World Environment Day 2023: India has a clear roadmap, for us it is like other sectors, said PM Modi on World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India has a clear roadmap regarding this sector. As far as the use of single plastic is concerned, India has already taken four to five steps in this direction.Today i.e. on June 5, World Environment Day is being celebrated all over the world. Many countries of the world are working to improve the environment. India is also included in these. Single-use plastic, which is the most harmful to the environment, is already banned. On the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a program that India has a clear roadmap regarding this.

He said that this year the theme of World Environment Day is to get rid of single-use plastics. The world is talking about it today, but India has been working in this direction for the last 4-5 years, not just now. India started work in 2018 to get rid of single use plastic.

For this, on one hand a ban was imposed on single use plastic and on the other hand we made plastic waste processing mandatory. This is such an issue about which the world is talking today whereas India has been working in this direction for the last many years.

'India is stressing on increasing the forest area also'

The Prime Minister said that on one hand India is focusing on expansion of 4G and 5G networks, on the other hand attention is being paid to increase the forest area in the country. While India is helping the poor, it is also thinking about future fuel needs. The country has focused its attention on green and clean energy in the last nine years.

President Murmu also appealed to the countrymen

Along with the PM, President Draupadi Murmu also called upon the countrymen to work together to improve the environment and build a green future. President Murmu tweeted that on this World Environment Day, let us remind ourselves that we are the children of Mother Earth. It is our time to give back to the nature which always takes care of our needs.
