ED interrogates Anil Ambani in FEMA violation case, know what is the whole matter

Earlier in 2020, Anil Ambani appeared before the ED in the money laundering case against Yes Bank promoter Rana Kapoor and others. Then he was interrogated for 9 hours.

The days of Anil Ambani, the younger brother of Mukesh Ambani, Asia's richest businessman, are not going well. Anil Ambani has been questioned in the ED office today. Confirming this, ED officials said that industrialist Anil Ambani has been questioned in connection with the investigation related to the alleged violation of the law related to foreign exchange.

Inquiry into the matter

Officials said that 64-year-old Ambani appeared at the federal agency's office in Ballard Estate area to record his statement in the case registered under various sections of Foreign Exchange Management Act ie FEMA. Ambani's statement was recorded as part of a fresh case filed under various sections of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). According to an India Today report, Mukesh Ambani's brother Anil Ambani arrived at the ED's Mumbai office at 10 am, while officials from his office were waiting outside. Earlier in 2020, Anil Ambani appeared before the ED in the money laundering case against Yes Bank promoter Rana Kapoor and others.

Income tax has also sent notice

In August last year, the Income Tax Department had issued a notice to Ambani under the anti-black money law for alleged tax evasion of Rs 420 crore on undisclosed amount of over Rs 814 crore stashed in two Swiss bank accounts. In March, the Bombay High Court had ordered an interim stay on the demand for income tax show cause notices and fines.
