In both the cases, patients were found to be directly related to blood circulation. Researchers told that if the circulation of blood in the body is less or not enough, the retinal cells of the eye are also affected.
Dr Matthew Beckham, a retinal surgeon at the University of California, said: "Her test could reduce the risk of heart disease in the future." According to the researchers, heart disease ie ischemia can be identified by examining the retina. In such a situation, the oxygen level in the body falls and the risk of damage to the arteries increases. Scientists are now planning that if the symptoms of ischemia are seen in the retinal test, the patient will be referred to a cardiologist.
