Green chillies across 400 in these states
According to the Economic Times, the price of green chillies in some parts of Chennai is Rs 100 a kg. At the same time, in some parts its price is also Rs 400 per kg. In Kolkata, the rate of green chillies has reached Rs 400 per kg. Market experts say that these prices have increased only recently. Due to less arrival due to rain, the prices are increasing day by day.
Green chilli reduced to 80 tonnes
Last week, green chillies have come down to 80 tonnes while Chennai's daily requirement is around 200 tonnes. The demand for green chillies is mainly met by goods coming from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. However, due to the short supply of green chillies, the demand has increased and the prices have increased.
Farmers in Andhra Pradesh failed to get a good price for their chillies in the previous crop, due to which they started producing other crops. As a result, green chillies come.
