Green chilli reduced to 80 tonnes

Last week, green chillies have come down to 80 tonnes while Chennai's daily requirement is around 200 tonnes. The demand for green chillies is mainly met by goods coming from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. However, due to the short supply of green chillies, the demand has increased and the prices have increased.

Farmers in Andhra Pradesh failed to get a good price for their chillies in the previous crop, due to which they started producing other crops. As a result, green chillies come.
