1st T20I: New Zealand beat UAE by 19 runs with the help of captain Southee's 5 wickets

 


New Zealand beat United Arab Emirates by 19 runs in the first match of the three-match T20 International series with the help of captain Tim Southee's 5 wickets. In this match, Aryansh Sharma played a half-century for UAE but no other batsman supported him. In this match, UAE won the toss and chose to bowl. 

Batting first, New Zealand scored 155 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Most runs from the Kiwi team came off the bat of opener Tim Seifert. He played a half-century inning of 55 runs in 34 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from him, Cole McConchie scored an unbeaten 31 off 24 balls with the help of a four. At the same time, Rachin Ravindra remained unbeaten after scoring 21 runs in 11 balls with the help of one four and one six. Junaid Siddiqui and Basil Hameed took maximum 2-2 wickets from UAE side. And one wicket each was taken by Zahoor Khan and Mohammad Farajuddin. 

Chasing the target, the UAE team was bundled out for 136 in 19.4 overs. The maximum 60 (43) runs from the team came off the bat of opener Aryansh Sharma. In this innings, he hit 9 fours and a six. Apart from him, no other batsman could stay at the crease for long. Captain Tim Southee took maximum 5 wickets from the Kiwi team. Apart from them, 2-2 wickets went to Mitchell Santner and Jimmy Neesham. Kyle Jamieson got one wicket.
