Bengaluru - Chandrayaan-3, sent under the ambitious Moon mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), is ready to create history today by making a 'soft landing' on the lunar surface. India will create history by becoming the first country in the world to reach the uncharted South Pole of the Earth's only natural satellite as the Lander Module (LM) of Chandrayaan-3 descends on the lunar surface this evening. The lander module consisting of Lander (Vikram) and Rover (Pragyan) is expected to make a soft landing near the south polar region of the Moon at 6.04 pm today. Chandrayaan-3 moon landing process will be telecast live on ISRO website ( https://www.isro.gov.in /) and ISRO official YouTube channel and DD National on August 23, 2023 at 05:27 PM .
Lucknow- All the schools of the state will be opened for one hour this evening regarding the Chandrayaan-3 mission in Uttar Pradesh. During this, children will be shown live telecast of Chandrayaan-3 mission. A notice in this regard has been issued by the Office of the Director General School Education and State Project Director. The notice states that India's quest for space exploration has reached a remarkable milestone with the Chandrayaan-3 mission, which is all set to land on the moon. This is an important step for Indian science, engineering, technology and industry.

Delhi- Today is the ninth day of hearing in the Supreme Court on the issue of abolishing the special status of Jammu and Kashmir by neutralizing Article 370. The court has said that the petitioner opposing this move of the government should finish its arguments by noon. After this, the central government and the party supporting the removal of 370 will start their arguments. The Supreme Court has already said that the Parliament had the right to make laws in matters related to Jammu and Kashmir. He is only hearing whether the process of removing Article 370 was correct or not.
Delhi- Supreme Court will hear the petition of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan. Azam Khan has moved the Supreme Court in the objectionable speech case related to former CM Mayawati. The Rampur court has ordered Azam's voice sample to be taken to know the truth of this speech given in 2007. The High Court has also upheld this order. Azam Khan is opposing the taking of his voice sample.
Bengaluru: The ruling Congress in Karnataka will hold an all-party meeting to discuss the sharing of Kaveri water. The government has called a meeting to discuss the issue of sharing of Cauvery water in view of the low inflow of water into the reservoir due to insufficient rainfall. On August 17, the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) directed the Karnataka government to release 10,000 cusecs of water from the Cauvery river to the neighboring state for the next 15 days.
Delhi- The deputy director arrested in the case of rape of a minor girl was sent to one-day judicial custody by the court on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the deputy director will once again be produced in the Tis Hazari court. According to police sources, the police can take the remand of the deputy director.
Delhi- Former Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court Prakash Srivastava has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Green Tribunal (NGT). He will take charge today on Wednesday. On July 6, 2023, the central government appointed Justice Shiv Kumar Singh as acting chairman of the NGT after the retirement of Justice Adarsh Kumar Goyal. Confirming the appointment, NGT Registrar General Ankit Singla said that Justice Srivastava's reception will be held today. Justice Srivastava was the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court between 11 October 2021 and 30 March 2023.

Srinagar: The annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave shrine located in the south Kashmir Himalayan region will be temporarily suspended from Wednesday in view of the low footfall and road repair works. The 'Chhadi Mubarak', the holy stick of Lord Shiva, will be carried through the traditional Pahalgam route and with this the pilgrimage will conclude on August 31. So far, more than 4.4 lakh devotees have visited Baba Barfani in the Amarnath Yatra which started on July 1. Due to the melting of the naturally formed snow Shivling in the temple, the number of devotees started declining since July 23.
Dehradun- The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for rain in Uttarakhand today and tomorrow i.e. on August 24 in Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. There is a possibility of heavy rains in these districts. There will be heavy rains in the state for the next three days. Due to the possibility of heavy rain, a holiday has been declared in the schools of Dehradun today.
