Chandrayaan 3 Landing: The countdown for Chandrayaan-3's soft landing on the moon has begun. On July 14, Chandrayaan-3 was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh and now the wait is just 6.4 minutes on Wednesday (August 23, 2023) evening. Chandrayaan-3 will study on the moon by staying for 14 days of the earth (which is equal to one day of the moon). Chandrayaan-3 was launched in the year 2019, four years after the failure of Chandrayaan-2. Keeping in mind the failures of the previous mission, special changes were made in it and today ISRO has spoken about its successful landing with full confidence. For the first time a country will land a spacecraft on the south pole of the moon. Because of this, scientists from all over the world are gazing at India's mission Moon. Let's know the answers to the important questions related to Chandrayaan-
1- What is the function of the lander and what will the rover do?
Chandrayaan-3 has three major parts, the first propulsion module, the second lander module Vikram and the third rover Pragyan. After separating from the propulsion module on 17 August, the lander module along with the Vikram rover Pragyan proceeded towards the moon. On August 23, the lander Vikram will land the rover Pragyan on the lunar surface. Rover Pragyan will roam around the moon, collect samples and conduct scientific tests.
2-How will the landing happen and what will happen after landing?
Chandrayaan-3 will have a soft landing on the moon on Wednesday at 6.4 pm. During this, 15 minutes will be very special, because at that time the lander will work on its own, no command will be given to the ISRO scientist. In phase 4, the lander will step on the surface of the moon. In this 15 minutes, the result of 1440 days of hard work will be there.
3-Through which route did Chandrayaan 3 reach the moon?
On July 14, Chandrayaan-3 was delivered to Earth's orbit through launch vehicle Mark-3 from Satish Dhawan Space Research Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. After this, the scientists sitting in ISRO shifted the spacecraft to the moon's orbit through the burn process. At present, Chandrayaan is 25 km away from the moon and will make a soft landing on the lunar surface at 6.04 pm.
4- Where will Vikram land on the surface of the Moon?
Chandrayaan-3's lander Vikram will land on the south pole of the Moon. Till date, no country has done soft landing of Moon on South Pole.
5- How many days will ISRO work on Moon mission?
Chandrayaan-3 will work on the Moon as a Lunar means staying for 14 days and will search for water, mineral information and study earthquake, heat and soil here. 1 Lunar i.e. one day on the moon is equal to 29 days on the earth. During this, there is day time for 14 days and night for 14 days.
6. Why did ISRO send Chandrayaan to the South Pole of the Moon?
The South Pole of the Moon is similar to the South Pole of the Earth. It is very cold and the sunlight falls less here. So far no country has made a soft landing on this part. America's Apollo mission landed in the middle of the moon, while China's mission was landed on the North Pole.
7-What will be the speed at the time of landing?
When Chandrayaan-3 will start soft landing on the surface of the moon at 6:40 pm on Wednesday evening, its speed will be 1.68 km per second i.e. 6048 per hour. This would mean at 10 times the speed of the plane in the sky. After this he will start slowing down the speed.
8- What information will India collect through Chandrayaan 3 ?
Chandrayaan-3 will study earthquakes on the moon, study heat on the surface, search for water, mineral information and study soil.
9-What is soft landing?
The process of landing a spacecraft on the lunar surface in a controlled manner is called soft landing. During this, the speed of the spacecraft is gradually reduced while controlling it.
10- If Vikram failed to land on the surface of the moon, then what is the plan B ahead?
So far Chandrayaan-3 has reached close to the moon by entering all the orbits as per the time set by ISRO. If everything goes well, it will land on the moon on Wednesday. If this does not happen for some reason, then ISRO has a plan B ready. Chandrayaan's landing will be postponed to 27 August. If the landing could not be done even on that day, then after one month the sun would have to wait again. Till the bottom, it will keep roaming in the orbit of the moon.
11- Has any country made a successful landing on the south pole of the moon so far?
Till now only America, China and Russia have done successful landing on the moon. If Chandrayaan-3 lands on the moon today, then India will become the fourth country to make a soft landing on the moon. However, none of these countries has so far made a soft landing on the South Pole. This area is very cold and at night the temperature here drops a lot.
