The Union Cabinet has approved 9 more supercomputers for the National Supercomputer Mission. Giving expansion to the Digital India program under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has approved an outlay of Rs 14,903 crore for this. 18 supercomputers are already deployed in the country
According to the news, 18 supercomputers are already deployed in the country. According to the news of Times of India, AI supercomputer AIRAWAT was launched in Pune earlier this year. This supercomputer got the 75th rank in the world. The system was ranked in the top-100 in the 61st edition of the Top-500 Global Supercomputing List. The 500 supercomputers present in the report list are deployed worldwide.
India's supercomputer Airavat (national supercomputer mission) has been prepared by Netweb Technology. This supercomputer works on Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS operating system. In this, AMD's EPYC 7742 runs on 64C 2.2Ghz processor.
Indian supercomputer in top-500 list
The Param Siddhi-AI supercomputer is used by the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). The Pratyush supercomputer (national supercomputer mission) is used by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology. The Mihir supercomputer is used by the National Center for Medium Range Weather Forecasting.
