Aadhaar card is one of our important documents, if there is any tampering with it then your account can be empty in seconds. Government of India has issued a red alert for Aadhaar users, UIDAI has informed users on Twitter (X) about scams going on these days. If you get any kind of email or WhatsApp message, then be careful and do not reply to any such message.
In this message, scammers are asking to share documents on WhatsApp, normal message or email, so avoid answering them. If you want to update your Aadhaar card online, then you can do it by visiting the official site. Apart from this, you can also go to your nearest Aadhaar center.
UIDAI does not ask for documents via email or WhatsApp
As per the Teet(X) of UIDAI, it never asks to share your POI/POA documents for updating your Aadhaar over email or WhatsApp. Update your Aadhaar either online through myAadhaarPortal or visit your nearest Aadhaar centers.
UIDAI has extended the free Aadhaar update of documents till 14 September 2023. Earlier, the free service was only till June 14, 2023.
Update / change details in Aadhaar card like this
- For this, first go to the official Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal.
- Now log in by typing your Aadhaar number and OTP here. After that find the details you want to update
- Now check your form once and submit it.
- Get a URN for tracking, URN is a 14 digit number which is given while updating Aadhaar details.
- After this, if necessary, go to Aadhaar enrollment for biometric verification.
- Now you will get an updated card with the correct details.
