The full name of AK Hangal is Avatar Kishan Hangal. He was born on 1 February 1914 in Sialkot, Punjab (now part of Pakistan). At the same time, his entire childhood was spent in Peshawar (Pakistan). Please inform that AK Hangal belonged to the Kashmiri Pandit family. Apart from this, he also played an important role in the freedom struggle. Also, from 1936 to 1965, he worked as a stage artist. Actually, when AK Hangal was 52 years old, he started his Bollywood career with the film 'Teesri Kasam'. Due to being more than 52 years of age, he played most of the characters of the elderly, but he used to breathe life into the film with his acting. AK Hangal was imprisoned for three years

AK Hangal also fought for the independence of the country between 1929 and 1947. In this connection, he had to spend about three years in Karachi jail. After this, when he came out of jail, then he came to Mumbai with his entire family. AK Hangal's acting career started only after stepping into Mayanagari.

AK Hangal worked in about 225 films during his career, out of which he did 16 films with Rajesh Khanna. His best movies include Sholay, Aaina, Namak Haram, Manzil, Prem Bandhan, Heer Ranjha, Arjun, Kora Kagaz, Shaukeen, Aandhi, Parichay etc. AK Hangal was last seen in the TV serial Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.
