Amarnath Yatra News: As the Amarnath Yatra 2023 nears its end, preparations have begun for Chhadi Mubarak's final journey to the holy cave. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha worshiped Chhadi Mubarak at Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhara in Srinagar on Thursday (August 24). Mahant Dipendra Giri of Dashnami Akhara conducted the puja in which many senior administrative and police officers participated.
Stick-worship on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Shukla Ashtami is an important ritual before the conclusion of the annual pilgrimage to Shri Amarnathji shrine. The Lt Governor sought the blessings of Lord Shiva and prayed for peace, prosperity, happiness and well-being of all.
What will happen in the last journey of Chhadi Mubarak
Following the traditional practice of Chhadi Mubarak Yatra, the holy mace will be taken to Shri Amarnathji cave on 26th August and will reach the holy cave on 31st of this month, on the eve of Raksha Bandhan. The first night halt of Chhadi-Mubarak will be at Pahalgam, but on the way to Pahalgam, worship will also be done at Sureshwar Temple Srinagar, Shiva Temple Pampore, Shiva Temple Bijbehara, Martand Tirtha Mattan and Ganesh Temple, Ganeshbal across the Lidder River.
Chhadi Mubarak's journey will rest at these places
After this Chhadi Mubarak will rest for the night at Chandanwari on August 28, Sheshnag on August 29 and Panchtarni on August 30. On Thursday, 31st August, on the occasion of Shravan-Purnima, Chhadi-Mubarak will reach the holy shrine of Amarnath ji before sunrise and the worship will begin with the rising sun.
Till 1989, Chhadi-Mubarak Swami Amarnathji used to leave for the main pilgrimage immediately after this worship and the sadhus used to cover the entire journey of about 148 kilometers from Dashnami Akhara Srinagar to the holy shrine of Amarnathji.
