Today we will talk about a young farmer living in East Champaran district, who has started dragon fruit cultivation. The name of this young farmer is Ritesh Kumar Thakur. He is growing dragon fruit in about half an acre of land. He has planted the two variety variety in his field. He says that right now he is selling 30 kg of dragon fruit in a month. The price of one kg of dragon fruit in the market is Rs 600. That is, they are earning Rs 18,000 by selling dragon fruit in a month. In this way, an income of 2 lakh 6 thousand rupees is being made in a year. Young farmer Ritesh Kumar Thakur is thinking of cultivating dragon fruit in one acre in the coming time.
Ritesh is an educated farmer
Ritesh is an educated young farmer. He did his graduation in the year 2019. Meanwhile his father died. In such a situation, all the responsibility of the house fell on his father. Then he started farming together with his uncle. Meanwhile, the then BHO Shashi Bhushan advised him to cultivate dragon fruit. After this, Ritesh learned how to cultivate dragon fruit on YouTube and started farming it. The special thing is that the then District Magistrate Kapil Ashok has also come to Ritesh's farm to see the dragon crop.
Do organic farming
Ritesh says that he has also received subsidy from the government to cultivate dragon fruit. He has received Rs 10,000 as subsidy on one acre. Now Ritesh is also selling dragon fruit plants. They are selling one plant for Rs.150. On the other hand, if we talk about other annual expenses, then on this they give Nano DAP, Nano Urea, Fertilizer, Phosphate, cattle manure twice a year. They do farming completely organic method.
