Left-arm Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is returning from the three-match T20 International series against Ireland starting tomorrow after a long time due to injury. He is also captaining the Indian team in this series. While now he said, "He is happy to be back", Bumrah said how frustrating it had become for him during the phase of recovery from injury. Bumrah also confirmed that his body is feeling fine.
Bumrah said, "When injury takes time to heal, it can be frustrating. Instead of doubting myself, I was thinking how to be fit and make a comeback. It is important to give time and respect to the body. Never took it as a bad phase and said my career might be over. I was again looking for a solution and when the solution came, I felt good."
On the World Cup, Bumrah said, "We were aware of the fact that there is no Test cricket till the ODI World Cup. Even in my rehab, I was not preparing for T20 games. I was always preparing for the World Cup competition." I was bowling 10, 12 and even 15 overs. That's why I bowl more overs, that way it becomes easier when less bowling is required. We kept in mind that We are preparing for the one-day competition, not the four-over competition. You have to keep going at your own pace. From where you left off, you are a bit down and going uphill."
