Actually, China, America and the then Soviet Union have done soft landing on the surface of the moon before India.
India created history
The LM equipped with lander 'Vikram' and rover 'Pragyan' will make a soft landing on the south pole of the Moon on Wednesday evening. This is such an achievement, which has not been achieved by any country so far. India has become the first country to do so.
What will Chandrayaan-3 do now?
The news agency quoted officials as saying that after soft-landing, the rover will descend to the lunar surface from inside the lander using one of its side panels, which will act as a ramp. He told that after landing, the lander may have to face the challenge of dust due to the activation of the engines present in it close to the lunar surface.
According to ISRO, the lander and rover will have one lunar day (equivalent to about 14 Earth days) to study the lunar surface and surrounding environment.
