Delhi's 2 cancer hospitals are on the verge of closure, cancer testing machines are lying defunct

Cancer Hospitals In Delhi:
Many machines are not working in East Delhi's Rajiv Gandhi Hospital and Delhi State Cancer Hospital. This is causing a lot of trouble to the patients. Former minister in Delhi government Rajendra Pal Gautam has raised this issue in the Delhi Assembly.

Aam Aadmi Party MLA and former Delhi government minister Rajendra Pal Gautam has raised the issue of poor condition of hospitals in his area during discussion under rule 280 in the Delhi Assembly. Rajendra Pal Gautam said that there are 5 government hospitals in his constituency Seemapuri. Out of which 4 are Delhi Government Hospital and one hospital belongs to MCD. Delhi Government's 2 hospitals Delhi State Cancer Institute and Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital are run by the governing body. The chairman of the governing body is the chief secretary.

Earlier, thousands of people used to come to the cancer institute every day for treatment, but it is unfortunate that even the machines have stopped, no tests are being done, annual maintenance of the machines could not be done and they were ruined. There is no permanent director in both the hospitals for a long time. In such a situation, patients are not getting proper treatment in the hospital. Despite being a cancer hospital, the Delhi State Cancer Institute does not have facilities for screening patients. In such a situation, patients have to go to other hospitals.

There is no account officer in rajiv gandhi hospital

Rajendra Pal Gautam said that there is no account officer in Rajiv Gandhi Hospital for a long time, annual maintenance of the machines of the hospitals could not be done and they are ruined. The house is requested to call for its record as to how many doctors have left the hospital in the last few years.

Doctors are kept on contract in hospitals and they do not get salary on time. Bills are not getting cleared since 2/2 years. I will not say that the Chief Secretary is not capable, but the responsibility lies with him. In such a situation, they should pay attention to this problem. If the condition of these hospitals does not improve soon, then the problems of the people of Delhi may increase.

Both the hospitals are attached to GTB Hospital

Delhi State Cancer Institute and Rajiv Gandhi Hospital are attached to GTB Hospital of Delhi Government. Cancer patients are referred here from GTB Hospital. Rajiv Gandhi Hospital is a superspeciality hospital, but despite this the machines are not working in the hospital.
