Do not tell OTP instead of delivery code, otherwise ordering food online will be expensive

People are being cheated in the name of online delivery. The person knocking at your door in the guise of a delivery boy asks for the delivery code, at the same time an OTP also comes on the mobile. People tell OTP instead of delivery code and become victims of fraud.

In the episode of cyber fraud, there is a long thread of OTP-link. If there is a slight mistake, it will not take time to empty the account. Cybercrime cells are full of such complaints. It has not one but many forms. The most popular form is the door to door delivery system. When you order any food item, often the person who brings the item asks you for OTP, which you also give OTP. There is nothing wrong till here. The real mess happens when you give this OTP without knowing where it actually came from? Is it sent by the same company or someone else?

If you have received the OTP of some other company and by giving it you have taken the delivery, then your account will be cleared in the next few minutes. You will come to know about the fraud only after receiving the SMS. By the time you do something, the thugs will have done their work, then you will have no option but to wring your hands.

This is how lime is applied

Jayant is an IT professional. He returned home late at night. were tired. Ordered food and was sitting on the bed after washing hands and face when the doorbell rang. He opened the door. Found the delivery boy standing in front. He asked for OTP, Jayant gave it. Took the packet and came back. Ate food and slept in a deep sleep comfortably. The family members were also informed to switch off the phone, so that no one would face any problem. Got up in the morning opened the phone. So he was shocked to see the SMS. 23 thousand rupees had gone missing from his account. Actually only this much could have come out. Jayant informed the bank. Went to the police also, but till now no result has been revealed.

Two OTPs came to Jayant

In the investigation, the police came to know that two OTPs had come to Jayant while taking the packet. Without seeing what is the source of OTP, he gave it. The thug gang got lifeline. He ran away. A police officer working in the cyber cell said that if Jayant had seen that the OTP given to him was not sent by the company from which he had ordered the food, then there would have been no problem. The problem happened because instead of giving the original OTP, he gave the second OTP that came in the phone at the same time. This officer has appealed to the general public that whenever someone asks for OTP from you, make sure that it has come from the same company. If the delivery boy demands OTP from somewhere else, then it is his turn to be alert.

You can make him sit. Can inform the police. You can also call the company from where you have ordered food or anything. Yes, one has to be cautious during this activity. Finding himself surrounded, he can become an aggressor. Might try to run away by pushing. If you don't want to mess around, you can choose to return the packet but don't give the OTP received from the fake company. By doing this, your maximum loss can be of four to six hundred rupees, but the bank account will be saved from emptying. After returning the packet, you can order another packet by informing that company. Then the responsibility of the action will be of that company.

Account can be empty due to mistake in OTP

This police officer says that a slight mistake in OTP can empty anyone's bank account. Since OTP is mostly used in online matters these days, thugs have made it their weapon. This question must be arising in your mind that why the OTP fraud company sent on your number only, then clearly know that nowadays phone numbers are available on money. Companies take your number in the name of giving bonus and other profits in any purchase. You do not know where these numbers go from there. In this era of online, you often cannot refuse and thugs get your numbers easily.

Fraud is also being done by URL

Apart from OTP, one form of fraud is URL on SMS itself. Messages of any business offer, lottery draw etc. are common. If you clicked on the link then looting is certain. It is safest to delete such links without opening them. An officer working in the cyber cell for a long time said that if someone can do it, then he must delete the SMS and WhatsApp without opening it. Do not take calls from unknown numbers. The possibility of fraud is reduced by 99 percent. The robbers are active in looting the market in different ways.
