This can increase the risk of heart disease in future. In this study, 15 healthy youths of 20 to 35 years were included. Those who were forbidden to sleep for 5 nights. Only allowed to sleep for 5 hours at night. After this they were asked to take recovery sleep for two nights. On both these days, he was allowed to sleep for 10 hours each. During this, his heart rate and blood pressure were checked every two hours. Its results were quite surprising.

In this research, there was a continuous increase in both heart rate and systolic blood pressure every day during sleep restriction. When the sleep was completed at the end of the week, heart rate and blood pressure did not return to normal levels. David Reichenberger, the lead author of the research, said that despite getting extra time to rest, the heart system of the participants did not recover till the end of the weekend.
