Fawad Alam has opted to end his international career with Pakistan and play afresh cricket in the United States of America (USA), reported Cricbuzz on Tuesday (August 8). However, Alam has completely dismissed the news of retirement, after which all these speculations have come to an end.
The 37-year-old Alam said during an interaction with Cricket Pakistan, "I have not yet reached any final decision. I have neither severed ties with Pakistan cricket nor opted for retirement. I am determined to participate in domestic cricket." I am committed to this and I aim to increase my participation in this cricket for the next one to two years, no matter how long my professional journey lasts.
Let us tell you that last year, Alam played three Test matches against Australia in which only 33 runs came from his bat in four innings. He also featured in a lone Test against Sri Lanka and scored 25 runs. He was dropped from the Test team due to poor performance. During his career for Pakistan, Alam has scored a total of 1011 runs in 19 Tests at an average of 38.88. His achievements include five centuries and two half-centuries.
