Former PM's nephew handed over to Pakistan Army for punishment, can Imran Khan's turn also come?

New troubles are coming to the fore on the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan. Pakistan army will now prosecute Imran Khan's nephew who is serving jail term in Toshakhana case. He has been handed over to the Pakistani Army. Now he will be tried in the army court. Now the discussion has also started that after the nephew, will the turn of maternal uncle Imran Khan also come. Means can he be handed over to the army to prosecute Imran Khan as well. Former PM Imran Khan, including his nephew, several party leaders and supporters are accused of vandalizing and setting fire to government properties, including army establishments. That's why the then Shahbaz government of Pakistan has given approval to prosecute all of them in the army court.

The nephew of Pakistan's jailed former prime minister Imran Khan has been handed over to the army to stand trial for his alleged involvement in the vandalism of the historic Corps Commander's House here on May 9. This was stated in a report submitted by the police to the Lahore High Court. Hasan Khan Niazi was in hiding after the May 9 and 10 protests and was arrested by the police on August 13 from Abbottabad. Activists of Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party stormed the Corps Commander's House, also known as Jinnah House, in large numbers on May 9 and set it on fire after ransacking it.

Violence erupted after Imran's arrest on May 9

Pakistan witnessed unprecedented nationwide anti-government protests on May 9 following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman by paramilitary force Rangers in a corruption case. Seventy-year-old Khan was later released on bail. Dozens of military installations and government buildings were damaged or set on fire during the violence, including the army headquarters in Rawalpindi. The police report stated that Niazi would be investigated and prosecuted by the army after he was named as the prime suspect in the case related to the Jinnah House attack in Lahore. (Language)
