Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's much awaited film Gadar has been released in theatres. The film is expected to get a bumper opening as it has sold around 20 lakh tickets in advance booking itself. There was a buzz about the film for a long time. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel put all their might into promoting Gadar 2. But the film pales in comparison to the buzz it had.
Many memories of people are associated with the Gadar that came 22 years ago. Many characters of this film live in the hearts of the audience. The mutiny created by plotting India-Pakistan was successful. The film also did strong business at the box office.
There are five major flaws in the film
1. The scene of uprooting the handpump of Sunny Deol in the first Gadar will be remembered. Even today that scene is discussed. He was freezing according to the scene and situation. But seeing the handpump scene shown in Gadar 2, people stop laughing. The lack of logic at many places makes the film weak.
2. Gadar went on because there was punch in his dialogue. People started clapping. But if a few dialogues of Gadar 2 are left, then it does not have any impressive dialogues as compared to Gadar which came 22 years ago.
3. Sunny Deol is nowhere to be seen for a long time in the first half. Without Tara Singh becoming a winner, Utkarsh could not handle this film on his shoulders. The film starts boring without Sunny Deol.
4. The story of the film is of 1971, that is true, but the treatment given to the film is also outdate, which drags the story a lot, makes it boring. Apart from Sunny Deol, no one is dedicated to acting.
5. After the first mutiny, many films filled with the spirit of patriotism were made. Despite being an issue of India-Pakistan, the patriotic part of it seems very weak. There is nothing special in the new songs of the film. The old songs which have been included again, they are good to listen to.
