GATE 2024 exam schedule released, know complete information from exam till result declaration


GATE Exam 2024 will be organized by IISc Bangalore. The registration process will start from 30 August. GATE 2023 was organized by IIT Kanpur. GATE 2024 exam will start from 3 February 2024.

The complete schedule of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2024 has been released by the Indian Institute of Science (IISC). Candidates aspiring to pursue master's degree in IITs, NITs and IIITs can apply for the exam by visiting the official website, gate2024.iisc.ac.in. Also, you can check the released schedule. The process of registration will start from 30 August and will continue till 29 September 2023. Late fee candidates can register till 13 October 2023.

GATE 2024 exam will be conducted on 3, 4, 10 and 11 February 2024. The admit cards will be issued on 3 January 2024 and the result will be declared on 16 March 2024. After release, registered candidates can download the admit card using their application number and date of birth.

These candidates can apply

Candidates must have an engineering degree to appear in GATE 2024 exam. Final year engineering students can also apply. For more information related to eligibility, you can check the released notification.

Application fee

The general category will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,800, while SC, ST, PWD and women category will have to pay an application fee of Rs 900. Candidates applying for two papers will have to pay twice as much as those applying for one paper.

What is GATE 2024 exam pattern?

Multiple choice questions and numerical answer type questions will be asked in the exam. MCQs have only one correct answer out of four possible answers. At the time of examination, the candidates have to use only the virtual calculator offered on-screen.

What margin scheme?

One-third will be deducted for the wrong answer to a question carrying 1 marks. Similarly, for 2-mark MCQs, 2/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. GATE 2024 scorecard will be valid for three years after the declaration of result.
